German Academic Exchange Service - DAAD stands for “Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst” - “German Academic Exchange Service”. The DAAD is the major organisation in Germany responsible for the management of the country’s government-sponsored programs for the support of higher education cooperation and exchange with all other parts of the world. Goethe Institute Australia
- The Goethe-Institute is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. It promotes knowledge of the German language abroad and fosters international cultural cooperation. USYD, Department of Germanic Studies - German has been taught at the University of Sydney since the 1850’s, starting only a few years after the foundation of the University. A Chair of German was established in 1938. To this day, it remains the largest German department in NSW, among the largest in Australia, and offers a very wide range of study opportunities, from the most elementary courses through to supervised postgraduate research.
